David Medrano
David Medrano, CEO and co-founder of Interprenet, offers his clients that rare union of superb language skills combined with solid business acumen. David’s life has revolved around languages and international business experience. He has worked as a professional court interpreter and conference interpreter. He has provided interpretation services for Fortune 500 corporations, important foreign dignitaries, and national government leaders.
David co-founded Interprenet in 2004 with founding partner Carlos Cantu-Lee. Their vision was to create a language service provider that was renowned for its professional service, reliability and accuracy. In a short time, Interprenet emerged as the fastest growing language company in the Chicagoland area.
Today, Interprenet has one of the largest global linguist networks and provides cutting-edge interpretation, captioning and translation solutions using a distinct blend of cloud-based technology and world-class simultaneous and consecutive interpretation in all languages.
David had exposure to languages while growing up in the Canary Islands in Spain. He is fluent in Spanish and English; he also has extensive knowledge of French.
David received an international education. He has an International Baccalaureate from St. Clare’s College in Oxford, England and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Bath University in England.
Carlos Cantu-Lee
Carlos Cantu-Lee, CFO and co-founder of Interprenet, brings a unique combination of linguistic talent and business experience to the company. As an independent linguist, Carlos collaborated on more than 300 assignments with law firms and industrial companies in Chicago. He also has worked extensively with government officials from Mexico.
Carlos brings more than 20 years of experience as an international consultant, working with companies such as Caterpillar, Hewlett-Packard, Canadian National and A.T. Kearney in the fields of Finance, Operations, Strategy and Human Resources.
Born in Mexico and raised in a multicultural environment, Carlos is fluent in Spanish and English. He also has a working knowledge of French, and his Chinese grandparents taught him how to speak Cantonese.
Carlos earned BS and MA degrees from the ITESM in Mexico, as well as an MBA/MEM from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
